5. ON-GOING ITEMS - review of status and ongoing considerations
  • Community Education
    • Native Plants, Pesticide Use and Other Environmental Impacts -- Discussed promotion of March 12 webinar about harms of pesticide use. Liz has forwarded webinar flyer to various groups such as the Edgemont PTAs for further distribution. The CAC members will share the flyer and will ask Paul Feiner to promote the webinar in an email blast and on social media.
    • Quarterly topics for community communication -–CAC reviewed the draft of the initial communication. Alison will revise and circulate. Potential topics for future communications discussed such as recycling/sanitation education.
  • Food Scrap Recycling – Alison will follow up with Paul Feiner about grant and next steps. CAC discussed the grant, how food scrap collection pilot could work and plan to meet with DPW after feedback from/conversation with Paul.
  • Tree giveaway - Matt to reach out to Aaron.
             
6. NEW BUSINESS
  • Resolution request in support of the NYS Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act S4246-a/A5322 and the expansion of the Bottle Bill S237-b/A6353. The CAC voted to request said resolution be passed by the Town of Greenburgh and will submit their request to Paul Feiner and the Town Board.
