MOMENT OF SILENCE

In memory of Laurence (Larry) Desimone, 77, of Hawthorne, NY, former town employee, after a short but valiant fight against cancer, completed his life’s journey on March 18, 2022, peacefully at home with his family at his side. He is survived by his soulmate of 55 years, Ruth Desimone, children and grandchildren and countless friends. He touched many lives through his volunteerism in many organizations, especially the Hawthorne Fire Department where he served for 40 years as a firefighter, EMT, Chief, Commissioner, Vice President, and Chaplain. He also volunteered as a Scout Master in Elmsford and coached Mt. Pleasant AYSO soccer. He served as Fire Marshall for the Town of Greenburgh for eighteen years after retiring from his construction business of over 25 years. He founded and served as President of the Westchester Fire Marshalls Association until 2022, and served as a member of the Greenburgh (CERT) Community Emergency Response Team. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday, 4-8 PM and Tuesday, 3-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Wednesday, 10 AM.

In memory of the 973,213+ individual victims of COVID-19 who have died in the United States, 6,092,933+ deaths worldwide, each leaving family members and friends too soon

In memory of the people in Ukraine killed during Russia's invasion and targeted bombing, including of civilians in apartment buildings, hospitals, schools and children centers

NOTE: The Town Board will be proposing a resolution for the next Town Board Meeting Agenda calling on our NYS representatives to adopt legislation that will allow the Town of Greenburgh to assess all newly constructed condominiums to reflect the most current market value as all other real property
GOOD NEWS...The Town continues (since 2008) to have the highest possible bond rating from Standard & Poors (AAA) and (since 2010) (Aaa) from Moody's. Less than 1% of communities in the nation have this record of financial stability. Recently, on 3/23/2021, Moody's reaffirmed the Town earned Moody's highest rating and, on 03/26/2021, Standard & Poors once again reaffirmed the Town earned Standard & Poors highest rating.

Advance signup is required. A continuous five minute limit per speaker per hearing will be strictly enforced. The clock will start when a speaker begins speaking and will not be stopped for any reason until the speaker is finished or five minutes has elapsed, whichever occurs first. Interruptions by Town Board members, the Town Clerk or the public will not be permitted. If a speaker insists on an immediate answer, should an answer be provided, it shall be part of the speaker's five minute allocation and not be interrupted. There will be a second five minute round unless the hearing is going to be adjourned to a subsequent hearing date, in which case the Town Board may waive the second round. Any written comments sent to PublicComment@GreenburghNY.com by 6 PM the day of the hearing will be forwarded to all Town Board members in advance of the meeting for their consideration. Written comments will not be read at the meeting unless the original author is present to do so.
